Wind Farm Design & Construction is the first module/lesson of the WFL Awareness Course.
This lesson provides an overview of the Wind Farm Design & Construction principles.
It starts with a section about Wind Energy Content & Features. Here a view is presented; what it is all about, some key figures re volume and cost, the pro’s and con’s, treads and opportunities.
The next session gives an introduction of the Wind Power Theory. Here some aerodynamic principles of converting wind energy to electrical energy will be treated.
The third session gives an introduction of the Wind Turbine Principles. Here some construction principles and technical aspects will be treated.
In the last session a brief overview of Wind Farm Siting and Environment will be given. It will be based on the design aspects and problems in real.
This lesson ends with a Quiz which can be used in class sessions by following the slides, but also for the individual learner by using the Quiz to find the right answers.
Finally a Wind Turbine Control Awareness Simulator is provided to get a better understanding about the energy convertion from wind to electricity and the technical difficulties to deal with.
